2016 was one of the best years of my life - it was the year I finally decided to GO FOR IT!  Thinking back on this time last year both makes me sad for the lost person I was a year ago, and also makes me proud of the personal progress I have made.  In 2016 I started my blog, uprooted and adjusted my entire lifestyle (allowing me to spend 6 months traveling), AND I lost 23lbs!

2016 was one of the best years of my life - it was the year I finally decided to GO FOR IT!  Thinking back on this time last year both makes me sad for the lost person I was a year ago, and also makes me proud of the personal progress I have made.  In 2016 I started my blog, uprooted and adjusted my entire lifestyle (allowing me to spend 6 months traveling), AND I lost 23lbs!   

I learned a huge lesson in 2016.  Setting goals means nothing if you don't make a plan to succeed and make daily decisions that align with your end mission.  In 2016 I began my dream career and increased my quality of life with my new and improved lifestyle.  I set goals and took the necessary steps to reach them.  2016 was all about career and lifestyle - and 2017 is all about personal development.  

I am setting myself up for success this year - and have partnered with The Chopped Leaf to start the New Year off right.  I am so excited to announce that I will be participating in their month long January 2017 wellness challenge 'Turn over a New Leaf'.    This 31-day challenge is something that I am more than excited to be a part of.  It is completely free to join, there are tons of amazing prizes to be won (including a ridiculously amazing Grand Prize worth over $2500 ), and most importantly - it is a way to hold yourself accountable.  Joining is easy - simply follow The Chopped Leaf on Social Media (FacebookTwitter & Instagram),  share your personal goals and progress via e-mail to 31days@choppedleaf.ca or click here and comment choppedleaf.ca/31days.

Here are my goals for the 31-day challenge.

Diet

Follow a plant-based diet, eating dairy once per week and wild caught fish 1-2 times per week.  Allow myself one cheat meal/week!

Fitness

I will be including you guys big time in this area - and am so excited to adopt new fitness habits in 2017.   Each Sunday I will be posting the specific work-outs that I will be doing for the upcoming week on the blog.  My fitness goal is to strictly follow this schedule - treating it as a "must-do" (like brushing my teeth)!

Wellness

Set aside 15-20 minutes daily for journaling, self-reflection & meditation.
